WPC-ACE League round one ends after playtime #9

At the conclusion of Playtime #9, the WPC-ACE League will officially be halfway through its group stage. DK and IG sit well clear of the rest of the group at first at second place, but the battle for a spot in the playoffs remains hotly contested.

Vici Gaming and LGD.int, the first match of the session, will kick-off the playtime at 10:00 CEST today. Both the teams recently faced off in D2L Season 4 groupstages in which VG came out on top with a 2-1 victory. Vici Gaming is currently sitting at fifth place while LGD.Int is at an all-time low seventh place, just one position shy of bottom feeders Team Adidas, Cupid's Heart and Rattlesnake.

The most anticipated match of the playtime is the second game today between DK, who has not dropped a single game in this league and TongFu. This match is yet another mirror of their D2L Season 4 encounter yesterday morning where DK defeated TongFu 2-1. Despite that, for the first time in two months, DK is looking very shaky with the implementation of the 6.79 patch and TongFu will definitely seize whatever opportunity they have to take down the dream team. The match is set to begin at 13:00 CEST today.

Day two of the playtime will feature LGD.cn taking on Cupid's Heart while RisingStars will play eighth placer, Rattlesnake.

Last but not least, iG takes on Adidas to close out Playtime #9. IG have been performing strongly in WPC-Ace League, still only having dropped a single match to DK earlier in the round. They come in to this match in terrific form, having recently defeated DK in the D2L groupstage, 2-0 while Adidas is still looking for their first win in the league.

The conclusion of Playtime #9 marks the end of the first round of the league, meaning each team will have played each other once. To recount, at the end of the group stage, the top two teams will be seeded straight into the semi finals whilst the next four will fight it off amongst themselves. This means only the top 6 will qualify and with DK and IG looking solid at first and second, the remaining four places will be fiercly contested.

There is no break in play between Playtime #9 and #10, with the beginning of the next round and playtime starting just a few minutes after iG vs Adidas.
